I caught the del.icio.us bug a little after the rest of the world, but since September last year I’ve been dutifully tagging my bookmarks and throwing them into my cloud.  I’ve now amassed a heap of ‘favorites’, however I find myself going back to them less and less frequently.  I’m still, even after almost nine months, hitting the ‘favorites’ or ‘bookmarks’ menu on my browser rather than going back to del.icio.us to find those little things I wanted to look at later.

With this in mind, I have done two things.  The first is to install the del.icio.us extension for my spanking new Firefox 2.0.  That in itself isn’t a big deal.  The other thing I did also isn’t a big deal, but was fun nevertheless.

I actually went back through my del.icio.us bookmarks/favourites and assessed each one for usefulness.  Now for some people who treat their bookmarks with care and love each and every one, this wouldn’t be a big deal.  But I am more the kind of person that throws a ‘drive-by’ bookmark into del.icio.us for later, and then promptly forgets around it.  So wandering through my bookmarks was an almost nostalgic experience, and turned up more than one thing that I threw in there ‘for later’ that I really must revisit.

Perhaps later.
