Quadrant IV

Productivity, or lack thereof

About

Quadrant IV is a blog primarily concerned with productivity issues, the brilliant David Allen and his ‘Getting Things Done’ philosophy and anything else that keeps me sane and organised.

The name is derived from Stephen Covey’s principle of four quadrants of task urgency and importance.  Quadrant I is things which are both urgent and important, Quadrant II is things that are important but not urgent (and where you should try to spend most of your time); Quadrant III are things that are urgent but not important (and thus should be managed carefully) and Quadrant IV contains things which are neither urgent nor important.  Quadrant IV is generally considered to be a waste of time and should be avoided.

Personally, I’m quite fond of spending some time in Quadrant IV.
